I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They even provided me with a private terrace that had a lovely view of the mountains. The cleanliness standards were impressive throughout the hotel, with the room and bathroom maintained to a high standard. The parking was convenient and I had no issues with transportation. The location was fabulous, nestled in beautiful forests and hills. Breakfast was good, and the hotel facilities were great, with a lovely play area for kids.
Not one thing was negative about my stay at this hotel.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning to serve us the breakfast (we had to leave very early in the morning)! Very nice and clean rooms (in the new building) with elegant in-suite bathrooms. Very good breakfast (home made bread and jam, also other fresh products). Delicious dinner in a great atmosphere. Beautiful playing yard for the kids. Good location (ref. to Postojna Cave), quiet surroundings in pure nature.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in the mountains. The location in a beautiful area was breathtaking, with a terrace at the back offering great views of the rolling wooded hills. The rooms were well-appointed, with nice bathrooms and even an extra bed. The breakfast was delicious, just like the reviewer mentioned, and offered a large choice of homemade and locally grown products.
No improvements needed, everything was perfect.

The owners were extremely friendly (we spoke Italian with the man,& we spoke English with the woman) & the setting was beautiful. It was out of the way, but very close to many major sights. The breakfast was huge with freshly baked bread, eggs, meat & cheese, yogurt, cereal, etc. . . There was a play structure & trampoline for the kids.
They are doing construction now & when they are done, I think the rooms will be much nicer.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Beautiful surroundings. Great breakfast and able to eat there in the evenings too.
Rooms were advertised with private bathrooms, but these rooms are in a new building that was not finished. The accommodation we were given had shared bathrooms. One of our party was pregnant and we were able to sort out an apartment with private bathroom on the ground floor for that couple.

Great accommodation, situated in a stunning mountain location. The service is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff who offer valuable recommendations for activities and places to visit. The rooms were spacious and clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The food was amazing, offering a variety of local dishes that are tasty and satisfying. The breakfast had a wide range of delicious options that cater to different preferences. Lastly, the location is perfect for engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, riding a bike, and exploring the tranquil surroundings.
The parking area can be quite cramped at times, especially during peak seasons, and requires some maneuvering to park properly. The Wi-Fi signal strength can also be quite weak at certain locations within the accommodation, which can be slightly inconvenient for staying connected with work or family back home.

The breakfast was very tasty and included homemade sweets and salads. the location was perfect, close to the city center and located in a peaceful area. They also had a children's playground which was convenient for our family.
We had some trouble connecting to the Wifi in our rooms, and we had to go to the restaurant area to access it. they didn't accept credit cards, which was a bit of an inconvenience.

The best part of our stay at Guesthouse Mesec Zaplana was the hospitality of the family who owns and runs the guesthouse. They did everything they could to make us comfortable. They found milk for my mother's tea at 11pm when we arrived and copied maps and marked routes for our journey the next day. The breakfasts were outstanding and kept us going all day with homemade jams and bread and delicious meats, cheeses and eggs or sausage--it was different each day. Also, the separate kitchen area was nice to have in the evening. This was a great location to see both the Skocjan and Postojna caves as well as Postojna castle and the Lippzaner horses in Lipica.
The only thing that could be better is if the bathrooms were in-suite, though this may change when the new building is completed. In these facilities, there were two toilets and two showers and our family was provided one of each, which was perfectly fine. It was a bit of a challenge, though, to keep our kids from disturbing the other guests in the mornings (as our munchkins wake up at the crack of dawn), and since they passed through the common area to go between rooms and to the bathroom.
